200-plus exhibitions a year, yet visitors were still counted by hand

COEX is Korea's MICE powerhouse, founded in 1979, with 36,000 square meters of exhibition space, 35 million annual visitors, and more than 200 exhibitions and 2,500 international meetings each year. Visitors were counted manually and estimates were shared with organizers, but there was no verified attendance data, no proof of sponsor exposure, and no way to make reporting anything other than a costly guessing exercise. Tracking of visitors and demographics stayed inaccurate, sponsor exposure went unmeasured, and labor costs ran high against low data credibility.

Measured visitors, demographics, and sponsor engagement venue-wide, non-biometrically

SpaceVision deployed Spatial Analysis across the exhibition halls and sponsor ad placements throughout the COEX venue. The system captures visitor counts, demographic profiles, and sponsor ad engagement data per exhibition on a continuous basis, running on device with no video stored and no personal information retained. It is fully non-biometric and GDPR-aligned by design, replacing manual headcounts with an automated, always-on measurement layer across the venue.

Manual counting gave way to an automated, always-on measurement layer

COEX gained verified turnout and sponsor performance data, giving organizers and sponsors their first credible, automated exhibition report. The system tracked 132K verified visitors and delivered more than three engagement data types per sponsor. Automated foot traffic with gender and age breakdown replaced manual counting, sponsor ad ROI arrived with verified exposure and attention metrics, and labor costs fell while data credibility and organizer trust rose.
